Blended Learning is the powerful combination of technology and essential human connection. It’s an innovative approach that transforms how children learn and how teachers teach, especially in underserved schools.

Our model uses a digital learning platform to provide personalised learning, allowing every learner to progress at their own pace. This technology is guided by the vital support of trained learning assistants and teachers. It’s not about replacing traditional teaching; it’s about complementing it to create sustainable, effective education in the communities that need it most.

Learning Assistants

We recruit unemployed youth from local communities to become professional learning assistants who support teachers in their role. Expertly trained in tech and child welfare, they energise a classroom, provide one-on-one support, and serve as role models for learners.

Edulution Learning Assistant

“I completed my education at Pestalozzi Education Centre in Lusaka, one of Edulution’s funders.

My journey with Edulution ever since has been amazing. I qualified as a learning assistant in 2017, and helped open a centre at Family Legacy in Zambia. In 2022, I travelled to South Africa to open and train new learning assistants in White River, in Mpumalanga Province, where we now have over 35 learning assistant and 14 centres.”

Levy began at Edulution in 2015, as a trainee learning assistant. His passion for technology did not go unnoticed by Edulution's Founder, and he was promoted to Software Designer and Finance Officer. 

While working full-time, Levy has pursued learning opportunities, not least a Diploma in Information Systems and Programming, and his Bachelor of Computer Science.

How does the technology work without internet or electricity?

Our solution was built for the most challenging environments. Our solar-powered learning hubs, known as "Edulution Centres," are equipped with tablets and a local server. All our learning software and data syncs offline, which means learners can continue their progress without a live internet connection.

What do you mean by a blended learning model?

Blended learning is our combination of technology and human support. Learners use adaptive learning software that personalises their learning path, while teachers and our trained local learning assistants provide in person guidance, motivation, and targeted support. This approach ensures no learner is left behind.

Who are the Learning Assistants?

Our learning assistants are talented young people hired from the local communities we serve. We provide them with extensive training to support teachers and to become effective mentors and facilitators. This not only creates a supportive learning environment but also builds local employment and develops future leaders.

What subjects does Edulution focus on?

We focus on foundational maths and literacy. Mastering these core subjects is essential for all future learning and provides the building blocks for a child's education.

How do you integrate with the existing school system?

We are a partner to the education system, not a replacement. We work directly with governments and schools to implement our program during or after school hours.
